The word passion is associated with sensuality and romance. However, the name for the Passiflora edulis has another reason, which is religious. The word passion comes from the Latin word passio, which means the passion of Christ. In the 16th century, Spanish missionaries associated the passion flower with the suffering of Christ. Using the flower, they tried to explain Christianity to the natives. Thus, the ten petals were said to represent the ten apostles who remained faithful to Christ. But besides an interesting history, the passion flower also has amazingly delicious fruit. This passion fruit is an ingredient that you can use for all kinds of culinary purposes. Moreover, you work easily and quickly when you choose Fruitlife's organic passion fruit puree! ### Buy passion fruit as a puree: enrich your kitchen with a versatile ingredient Passion fruit is fresh and sweet and therefore ideal for sweet dishes. Turn them into mousse, ice cream or a cheesecake, for example. But mocktails and cocktails also get a boost from the taste of our pureed passion fruit. Furthermore, you can make savory dishes tastier with this ingredient. Think of a dressing for a salad with goat cheese, a marinade for a chicken breast or a sauce for a slice of cod. Pureed passion fruit is also ideal for use in smoothies. Besides being fresh and sweet, passion fruit also provides an extra dose of health. In fact, passion fruit is rich in vitamins A and C. It also contains several minerals, such as iron, potassium and magnesium. ### Making passion fruit puree: benefit from Fruitlife's expertise Puréeing and freezing fruit is a specialty.
